VEGAN PARADISE BERLIN N°3
WE ENDED UP BIKING…
Ready on my rosa bike, of course fitting to my space pink-purple backpack, I started to bike from Neuköln to Friedrichshain where the first goal to be reached was:
Hafterkater literally translated means Oat Hangover..
Yes, this name makes you wanna know what it is all about, although the name says it all.
A destination wort visiting for all the porridge fans out there. They serve with one exception (because of honey reasons) all different kinds of warm vegan porridges that give you a warm cosy start into the day.
I went for the WALDBEERENKATER=FOREST BERRIES HANGOVER
Nicely accompanied with a detox Matcha.
The place is cute and tiny. People use it more as a take away spot, but there are a few comfy spot inside and I was lucky to have enjoyed the warming porridge with its roots from Scotland outside by sunshine.
After this a bit, for my morning taste, too sweet porridge I was happy to go on biking and found myself in a beautiful street named Sonntagsstrasse (=sunnday street) to visit the amazing vegan fashion store
I was very taken by all their stuff that I could not chose to shop…
Just being so amazed that they have it all!
And with all I mean: ALL VEGAN, FAIR ,SUSTAINABLE and FASHION IN ONE STORE; for Men and Women.
Sold and advised by a lovely woman.
But then it took not long after leaving the store that I knew I should have bought the bamboo shirt…. SO GUESS WHAT I JUST ORDERED ONLINE…
Well, The great thing is, the ship to Switzerland and EUROPE-WIDE.
I love the store, the name and the vibe. Just LOVECO how they intelligently named their beauty of a store.
Ps: They have an indoor swing…OH YES, dreams come true.
The bike trip went on from Friedrichshain to Kreuzberg where the cherry trees seemed to blossom even more then in other parts of Berlin. FULL OF LIFE and SUNSHINE I entered into this more lively area, where I had the perfect lunch stop at:
This coffee place has not just an on the spot well interior design,
the taste buds also get pleased in all its different varieties.
And this comes gluten free, raw and mostly sugar free!!
YES!! YES!! YES!!
BANH BAO VEGAN AND GLUTENFREE.
I love those sticky white buns filled with ginger marinated veggies. Just delicious.
This together with a white coconut-asperges soup topped with black sesame and finalised with a raw gluten free sugar free matcha lime pie was AMAZE BUN!!
ALL I CAN SAY IS, THANK YOU CHARLIE!
My mouth party had a quick break while I visited the art gallery weekend at Linienstrasse close by Rosenthaler Platz… Great to have seen some familiar faces and inspiring art exposure at the SYGNS stop, who covers whole Berlin with fancy Neon signs..
Late, almost too late, but still in time I made it to:
The one and first vegan pizzeria place in Europe and this located at the end of Neuköln towards Treptow.
A MUST VISIT, for a half italian woman like me….
I literally arrived 5 min before the kitchen closed and although they might not have been so happy to still have my order, I was very happy to have at least once in my life experienced this.
Being in a pizzeria where you can just choose everything with no extra notes of not adding cheese or ham or this or that.
Their pizza menu is very big from classics like 4 stagioni to pizzas with avocado and hempseed you can have everything you can think of in the vegan pizza world.
Because of time management, and nervous pressure I kept it simple and chose the POPEYE. (SPINACH, TOMATOSAUCE AND VEGAN CHEESE)
Let’s say, the experience was a fun one timer…
WORTH AN EXPERIENCE! They did a great job.
And so it came to the end of a 30 km long biking day…full of berry oats, bamboo shirts, asian buns, trendy signs and cheesy slices to finally know that ALL IS VEGAN, A LOT ORGANIC,MOSTLY FAIR AND LOCAL….
